Potential College Athletes: Early Signing Period
Right now, the early signing period for potential college athletes is underway. It started on Wednesday November 14th, and will end on Wednesday November 21st.
Athletes that sign their National Letter of Intent during this period can relieve the pressure of choosing a college or university to play for. Once you sign your National Letter of Intent, you are locked in to a program. You can then focus on competing during your senior year in high school.
If you decide not to commit during the early signing period, you can make your decision during the regular signing period. If you are waiting for more information, or expect more offers later, it might make sense to wait a little longer before signing a National Letter of Intent.
Act now and be proactive about your own recruiting. If you have been sitting back and waiting for college coaches to contact you, now is the time to change your mind set and start contacting college coaches. You can also benefit by putting together a recruiting video. If you do not know what level you can play at, or where your academics and athletics stand together, consider arranging a free evaluation of your abilities by knowledgeable former college and professional athletes.
